Cookie Policy
Last updated: 5 August 2026
This explains the cookies and similar technologies PlanCutFit uses on plancutfit.com and within the app, and how you can manage them.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar technologies — local/session storage and IndexedDB — particularly to support the offline field app, which stores your jobs and floor plans on-device so you can keep working without signal.
2. Cookies we use
| Name / provider | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session / authentication cookie | Keeps you signed in and identifies your organisation | Strictly necessary | Session / up to 30 days |
| PostHog | Product analytics — which features are used, session recordings for product improvement | Analytics | Up to 1 year |
| Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*) | Aggregate site traffic and usage analytics | Analytics | Up to 2 years |
| Coming-soon / waitlist preference | Remembers dismissal of the launch waitlist banner, where shown | Functional | Up to 1 year |
Strictly necessary cookies can't be switched off, as the site and app won't work properly without them. Analytics cookies are non-essential — see Section 4 for how to opt out.
3. Why we use analytics
We use PostHog (EU-hosted) and Google Analytics to understand how PlanCutFit is used, which pages and features are most valuable, and where people run into friction — so we can prioritise fixing the right things. We don't use these tools to build advertising profiles or sell data to advertisers.
4. Managing or refusing cookies
- When you first visit, a banner asks whether to accept analytics cookies (PostHog, Google Analytics) or continue with strictly necessary cookies only. Analytics scripts are not loaded at all until you accept.
- You can change your mind at any time using the “Cookie Settings” link in the site footer, which reopens the banner.
- Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies via their own settings — refusing non-essential cookies won't stop you using PlanCutFit, but may affect our ability to fix issues you encounter, since we'll have less visibility into what happened.
- You can opt out of Google Analytics specifically using Google's browser opt-out add-on.
- Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in or using the app.
5. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as we add or remove tools. The “Last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version.
