What is vinyl flooring estimating software?

Vinyl flooring estimating software works out how much sheet vinyl a job needs. PlanCutFit plans each room on your roll width (commonly 2 m, 3 m or 4 m), adds a trim allowance for cutting in, shows any joins, and prices the vinyl, any prep and the fitting from your price list.

Plans start at £49 a month, with a free trial and no card needed. See pricing

How it works

How vinyl flooring estimating software works in PlanCutFit

  1. 1

    Measure

Small rooms, odd shapes and doorways drawn to size.

  2. 2

    Pick the vinyl

Roll width and price from your products.

  3. 3

    Roll plan

Cut length with trim, and joins if the room is wider than the roll.

  4. 4

    Quote

Vinyl, prep, door bars and fitting.

Planned on the roll, with trim

Vinyl is cut from the roll like carpet, so it’s estimated the same way: the cut length plus your trim allowance, on the roll width you choose, with the join shown if the room is wider than the roll.

  • Roll width per product
  • Trim allowance for cutting in
  • Joins shown on the plan

Worked example

Example: a 2.4 m × 1.9 m bathroom on a 2 m roll

  • 1.9 m wide fits a 2 m roll in one piece
  • Cut length 2.4 m plus trim
  • No join needed, so no seam in the wet area

Example figures; trim allowance is set in your settings.

Questions

Vinyl estimating: questions people ask

Does it do LVT as well as sheet vinyl?

Yes. Sheet vinyl is planned on the roll; LVT is worked out in packs. Both can be on the same job.

Does it use my own prices?

Yes. You add your products, underlays, accessories and fitting rates once, with your cost and sell prices. Every quote uses them, and you see your profit on the job before you send it.

How much does it cost?

Plans start at £49 a month for a sole trader and £199 a month for a shop with a team, with a 7-day free trial and no card needed. Card payments from customers go through Stripe, so Stripe’s fees apply; bank transfers are free.
