Customer conversation tips
Ask where foot traffic is heaviest before recommending pile type. Hall stairs and lounge loops need different products — one recommendation for the whole house often leads to returns.
Show underlay options with tog and density explained; upselling quality underlay is easier when customers understand lifespan and feel.
Common mistakes to avoid
Under-ordering material to win a price-sensitive quote — revisits erase margin faster than a slightly higher first quote.
Skipping written scope: always document what is excluded (furniture moving, subfloor prep, door trimming) alongside what is included.
- Hard-wearing
- Hides footprints
- Wide colour range
